Large cent 1 silver 0 "1828"

Hunted yesterday at a field site I've been having good luck at.
Found an 1848 L.C. last year and Marinedad pulled an 1850 from here.
The field was still muddy and very difficult to MD so I worked the
ditch up to the edge of the field. Found the unreadable date L.C. and 2 wheaties 17 & 20.
This L.C. isn't the young head type so it must date before 1836.

Re: Large cent 1 silver 0

nice save on the LC rich, sounds like i don't even have to report my finds when i hunt with dennis.

Re: Large cent 1 silver 0

Great Find -- I'd take that over any 1900's silver except perhaps a dollar. You have a Matron head, so 1816-1839. Hate that when you can't get a date off of those.

Re: Large cent 1 silver 0

Large Coppers get a
Sweeeeeettttt....
Trade you the 5 aluminum cans I dug today for it :dontknow:
And yes DFW the fields are a bit muddy....Quite a task to find your find....Half the time I am not sure what I have...just in the pouch mud and all till I return home....sure you can relate to that...

Yes it is. Last year I dug my oldest coin dug from the same site, a 1848 L.C..
You also had your oldest coin dug from their also, right?

Re: Large cent 1 silver 0 "1828"

Glad the HP Sauce worked... Too bad it wasn't 1824, but still very cool
