We hunted an old mill site this weekend. The river was high and we could not get across to the side that looked like it had a landing and nice flat area. So we hunted the side where we were instead. We hope to hit the other side when the river gets lower. My one and only keeper was an 1833 Large Cent. After that we moved to a cellar hole that my friend has permission to hunt. I found an old thermometer. The writing on it is great. It has marks at freezing, temperate, blood heat, fever heat and spirit boils. Fever heat is 112 degrees, man I think most people would be dead at that temperature. I'm not sure of the age of it though.

Ed, that Coronet cent is in nice shape. It is always nice when you excavate coppas in great condition. I got an 1818 "greenie" yesterday, which is in exceptional shape for its age.
