It's a Draped Bust type. They were minted 1796 - 1807

being that corroded it's probably a 15-20 dollar coin

This one has a little sentimental value and a story. I found it about 25 years ago. Wow where does the time go. I was hoeing a row of strawberry plants on my grandfathers farm. It was dry on top on a hot humid day. I thought it was a flat washer filled with dirt til I picked it up. At the time I figured based on the magazines it was maybe 3-5 dollars. Waseeker if you are right it has appreciated. Most of the stuff I find I don't get attached to but after holding it 25 or so years I probably will keep it since it brings back memories good and bad.

Large Cents have appreciated quite a bit the past 3-4 years. The Grey Sheet lists the least expensive Draped Bust Cents in AG at 25.00. while your's has corrosion it does have much better than AG detail.

One of the best ways I've found to help with that type of corrosion is to use the coin as a pocket piece. I've got a couple of 1802's that I sometimes carry. It's a slow process but it will smooth them out eventually.

I know what you mean about the sentimental value. I have 3 silver dollars that even if I sold every other coin I have, I would still keep them. One was my grandfather's pocket piece. It is so worn it is barely identifiable as a peace dollar. #2 is my dad's pocket piece and number 3 is my pocket piece. It was given to me by a coin dealer friend a couple of days after I inherited my grandfathers dollar with the proviso that I had to use it as a pocket piece.
