Hunted an old farmhouse built in the early to mid 80's today. Spent a solid 7 hours swinging. I'm whooped! Gorgeous weather for late September so had to take advantage of it. 95% of these finds are from the front yard. The soil was dry and sandy. Every target I dug today was rather bouncy. I really had to focus on what my AT Pro was telling me. Throughout the day I pulled up 14 wheaties which surprisingly most dated in the 1940's. I believe one was from the 30's.

...near a couple wheaties pops out this neato Asian coin. Does anyone know what country/date this coin is? I believe it's copper.

About two hours in, I start sweeping around a large oak when I receive a silky 75 to 82 signal, 4 to 6 inch on the display. Anyone handy with a Garrett knows this signal. It wasn't one of those loud obnoxious dead ringer tones... Just satin smooth, floating edge to edge, seducing you to the ground. Instantly my heart pumps and I pop the plug to see this...

This find gave me the extra gas to make it another 5 hours. Large cent #4 for me this year!

About 10 yards from that spot I pull up this little guy...

An hour or so later, I get a deep 82 - 89 signal, 8 inches on the display. I couldn't believe it. After some rooting around in the hole I see her... standing liberty half dollar. My first ever silver half! Unfortunately, I nicked the back with my shovel. It's still making me cringe just thinking about it...

Sorry for the blurry pic. You can see the scratch on the left side

I put the half back in the plug to show ya how deep I had to go!

I came down from my high and the very next hill signal comes up pull tab range. Pop the plug to see this...

A gold plated locket with photos still in it! Unfortunately, the photos are washed out but you can just make out a face in the top photo. I'm going to do a little more research on the house and try to track down who this might belong to. It looks rather modern but I could be wrong...

Here are some other neato finds from the hunt:
All three are silver plated. The knife has a dude's name etched into the blade. Not sure if it's the maker's name or the person who owned it..

Broach with gold gilding still attached. This sucker is heavy. Not sure if it's lead or pewter. Guessing pewter? It's about the size of a silver dollar. Two spots on the back where a pin used to go... Unfortunately, I nicked this one too as you can see..

Silver plated Rudolf on an iron backdrop. Christmas ornament from years past? This is about the same size as the broach..

Some other neat finds. The matchbox Chevy is from 1979. The other is a 1969 HW. The pocket knife still has some wood on the case...

This was a fun hunt. I'll probably need a few days to recoup. I can at least play with my new toys in the meantime.
HH all!
