Got out today fro a couple hours in and old school park with some history. Just when I decided to give it up I got a hard 81 on the AT Pro. Five inches later out rolled a first for me. I'm Stoked and hooked for life.

Awesome find!!!! I can't wait till I find my first silver. I got out for a few hours to the oldest park in town with my AT Pro, and found plenty of clad, including dimes and quarters ringing in at 80-88, which gives me hopes that there are still oldies left to be found.

You got the machine to do it. The Barber hit a solid screaming 81 only 5 inches deep in very lofty soil. Couldn't believe it was that shallow.

Congratulations hunter, you have a great coin there and a thrill you will remember for a long time!!..............63bkpkr

I ordered an E-Trac today, with the intention of selling my AT Pro, but the more I learn it, I won't be able to let it go. Besides, I need to keep a waterproof machine for rivers!

Congrats on that find :icon_thumright:

But remember my wise words. Better it was your last hole and first find, than being your first hole and last find :tongue3:

Very nice. I have a couple of older spots I want to check out saturday morning if it doesn't rain, would love to hit a Barber. Great Find!

Wise words indeed! 8-)

That dime isn't in mint condition by any means, but it looks to have held up pretty well over the years. That's a good one for the display box.

No it's not mint, not sure anything that comes out of the ground could ever be close to mint. But believe it or not I've never even held one in my hand until now. I actually had a second "first" and oldest coin today. A 1875 Seated Dime. Never held one of them either. I'm still in shock.

My I would like to find one of the seated variety!

I would like to find anything 90% silver. :)

Oh yeah, brother! :)

Very nice I hit up the state park near my town. It's right next to the river, floods every year.. Lets just say we wasted our time picking up trash ;p
