Hunting hard with my buddy Phil two days ago netted one more silver (Rosie) for a total of 218 silver coins.....

2008 was even better than what I thought it would be. My buddy Tom and I had set our goal to be 100 silver coins each........we went well past that mark. We hunted hard and had good times out there. Over two years since I got into metal detecting, and I have a couple of excellent friends and some pretty nice finds. My favorites of the year were certainly the Standing Liberty Quarters.......I found more than what makes sense odd/ratio wise.........yet I have still not found a half of any kind......neither has my buddy Tom. That is in the order of about 400+ silver without a single half between us.

This year, my detecting resolution is to go after the older stuff.......more woods hunting. I feel a certain Bone Dry Detecting passion for coppers this year and I know they're around. Photos of all the stuff enclosed.

One photo shows token and misc finds, including the NYC Subway Token, the Ford token, my only IH Penny (Rescan where a merc was found, a canadian silver dime, a war nickle, an old copper and a in pretty nice shape on the reverse Buffalo Nickel.

Nice job on all of the old silver coins! :) Looks like you had a really awesome year!!! :)

What a fantastic year you had, Ricardo. :icon_king:

Thanks for all the effort you put into your posts and videos. I enjoyed them all!!

All you needed was a great machine and the knowledge to use it to produce a very successful year!!

I too am surprised that neither you nor Tom found any silver halfs. :icon_scratch: I only found 3 of them this year. There should be more injuns in your area too. I know your love is for digging the silver. I love the Injuns because there's not that many in my neck of the woods, and many sound like a deep zinc memorial penny....cool design, cool coin!!

Best of luck to you in '09!

Wow ,what a silverific year you had Rick!!!You are really a silver master, who taught me most of what I know on the explorer.Last year our silver coin count was in the upper 50's and we thought if we got real lucky,we touch a 100 silver coins. Then you blast out 218,including all those SLQ's, and I get almost a 150!!This year some seated silver, more old coppers and at least a one lousy half between us.

Nice job on the silvers man! I know each one was hard earned and well deserved.

Steve
