The weather here in the Northeast has been DRY!
So much so, I took a two week rest period from the hobby.
Just did not want to leave a mess on the turf.
I have too much respect for the caretakers, etc.

Right before I took a hiatus I decided to try my luck on a small recreation area that was surrounded by pines and had a picnic table or two.
I figured I could not do too much damage in the pine needles.
It paid off with the nice '41 Washington quarter; about 5" inches down in a bed of pine needles and soil.
Also nabbed a WM Frantz Bus Lines Token which came in as a solid nickel reading. I believe the bus line ran in the 40's and 50's?

2 Weeks Later:
Finally some rain yesterday! One INCH!!!

So I headed out to a local school this eve. Nothing of any real history. The soil actually held a plug in some spots.
I mostly just dug clad, but it felt GOOD to get out again! 8-)
I did manage a small thin, homemade ring. I have no idea what the composition is so I will write if off as a junk ring (has a tied knot in the front center).
I think that is ring #8. It came in as a zincoln signal.

I sure hope we can get some weekly rainfall now! :skullflag:

A 1941 silver quarter! Very nice! Much harder to find than a rosie or a merc.!
