Found a spot that appears to have been a early homestead but later used as a dumping ground in the 1920's- 1940's. Quite a few wheat pennies, some Indian heads but no silver yet. Few weeks ago did find a 1805 Draped Bust which helped date the site. There are lots of targets. So many I have to go real slow with the 11" coil. Planning to us the 6" coil this coming week

The whale oil lamp top and parts of broken pewter spoons (not shown) also typical 1700's small homesite.

Pair of buckles look later 1800's to early 1900's. Fangs to a much earlier buckle.

Third pocket watch from the site.

Decorative pewter button looks much earlier. Shank appears more post medieval 1600's.

The Navy long neck eagle button looks like the 1812 war period. One piece white metal mold with shank. Does match button illustration. Have not made a match to any similar buttons online yet.

Small padlock stamped G. Girods Newark, NJ must have been a short lived company. I found very little about the maker or images of other padlocks baring the name.

Interesting later period 1920's-30's find was this art deco rouge Mello-glo. In very good condition. Have not tried to open as it would probably break. Company is long gone but was located in Boston.

There is a 1861 Indian head penny in average condition.

I keep finding large cent size rounds. This one is blank with just has a cross on the top. I still think they were game or gambling related.

Found this steering column sticking out of the ground. Thought it might be from a Ford Model T. Others may know more. There was just so much trash that I did not include. Thanks for looking!!

Those are some nice finds!

What detector and coil were you using to navigate this tsunami of trash? Did you dig most signals of all signals? Very favorable finds for your hard work!
Using the Minelab Equinox 900. 11' coil in Park 1 mode with sensitivity set at 22. Works quite well with so much clutter.
