hunted a few spots this past week.these finds are from 3 different spots.

Great finds greg love the ridge.What is neat is that little slate piece.maybe a tube pipe plug? that piece i found today is a killa... cya in the pouring rain again in the a.m. :thumbsup:

hey ohio,here is another pic.think it is a broken hard stone artifact,maybe from the top of a bell pestle??the slate piece maybe a bead preform,looks like they started to drill a hole on one end.
 
Wow! Great finds. hey, whats the little mushroom shaped item up top? I found one just like that and supposed they were used as blunt points.... maybe so as not to damage the skins of small animals?
 
airborne 80,thanks for the comments.that is a debatable topic,i have always refered to them as hafted scrapers/chisels used for scraping hides,wood,etc...but i have heard them called blunts and stunners,which is saying they were used for stunning an animal so as not to kill it.IMO i think they were not used for that at all and i believe most would have the same opinion as i do.i also think some if not all were salvaged points that had a broken tip and recycled into a hafted scraper.
