well I finally got another 100 rounded up to get another box of nickels and thought I would take a bit of extra money and check out the LCS. I wasn't feeling up to driving around pre-christmas traffic with my various medical issues and stopped into the LCS. I asked about war nickels and they showed me a book with war nickels ranging 9 dollars to 15 bucks a piece!! Ouch! I asked them if they had a rummage bin for the not so nice war nickels. They said no and I told them that if someone brings some in that aren't so nice, not coin collector standards that I would buy them for spot. While that was a total bust I did pick up a nice ASE for 2 dollars above spot. They said yet again it was dinged up but I guess their definition of dinged up and mine are different, because she was beautiful. I also picked up 2 bar ounces of silver. I have gotten away from rounds. They just don't appeal to me anymore. It's like I have older morgan dollars, my oldest of 1880 and I am wondering about selling a couple of them. Hmm, descisions, descisions.
I did decide that I will wait on dumping coins. Rather than waste gas going in weekly dumps of only 200 bucks of nickels. I am saving up my coinage till I got around 500 worth, then take them in. I am definitely going to have to get one of those wagons or dolly cart because my arm and all that lovely carpal tunnel and tennis elbow sure lets me know they ain't happy. I suffer for days after just carry two tote bags with only a 100 dollars each. My dad had a one of those hand carts with the two wheels and the ledge that rests on the ground but it won't fit in my car's trunk. Bummer.
