I have this piece that I have been trying to figure out and I haven't really asked anyone yet. I sort of thought that it might be part of a horse shoe... It seems to be maybe a brass of some sort, definitely not Iron like most shoes. Also, its relatively thin I would say only a centimeter thick.

Over all piece information:

Condition: Seems to be missing or broken (not the whole original piece)
Shape: Curves like a horse shoe
Length: 4.5 inches

Lastly, there is some very old writing on it appears to say "Lord T" in cursive before it gets cut off.

I would guess its from a horse shoe, but Im not sure... As well, how old could it be. Maybe the writing is a clue...

Looks more like it says Ford

Icewing is right! It does say Ford, and what you have is part of a babbitt thrust washer from the rear axle of a Model T Ford.
