About 140 years of annual flooding, iron, accumulated cans, etc. Maybe I'm crazy but I can't write it off.

What ever floats your boat, I'd look for better sites and if I strike out on the occasion getting another permission you always have this site in your back pocket.

I would RIP into that area ya never know

I would detect the area.

Perhaps grid off small areas and clean the junk out, then detect again for the keepers.

Good Luck

That can be a tough one. Especially the annual flooding. I have a site on the Chattahoochee river flood plain where a very large number (think division level) of union soldiers camped in 1864. but so far after about 5 hunts just tin cans and modern junk. But deep in my mind, I think there just has to be some good stuff located there.
