Fishing spot find - a very handsome star hat pin badge made of brass with ornate engraving.
Just my guess that it is from late 1800’s just by the design pattern which is pretty but not very official looking for a law officer but maybe a ranger or early fish and game warden.
Too bad no makers markings on back to aid in identifying this attractive piece, which at least looks nice in my display case. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1598425315.539031.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1598425329.835886.webp

Great find, to me it looks like a drawer pull. I want to find a badge so bad before I hang my detector up. I hope it is a badge:) I think I see threads in the hole.Screenshot_20200826-105214~2.webp

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice find. Great ID by Ticndig.

I have to agree with Tocndig. Law enforcement badges will nearly always have “Police”, “Sheriff”, or wherever law enforcement agency it represents on it. Typically most will have hallmarks on the back as well. Nevertheless, it’s a nice relic and piece of history. Nice find.

Cool relic, congrats! :occasion14:
