Laurel Creek Trailhead - Johnson County, Tennessee

This is the new trail that Johnson County Trails Association organized for the Laurel Creek area of Johnson County, Tennessee. This trail has plans of being extended to connect with the Virginia Creeper Trail which will give you access directly to the Appalachian Trail. It is part of the Cherokee National Forest and is only about 10-15 minutes from me. It is a beautiful hike and well worth the stop.

Bear, Favor.. we frequent TN, NC, VA etc.. Could you find out any info about mild off road trails?.. The last time we were there we took a trail simply known as willow creek.. and because there are those bad apples.. the trail and or the land was being sold and the trail may have been close.. I'm not looking for any pay to play trails.. but soemthing know as fire access trails.. and if anything regarding laws on the use of these kinds of trails. Thax

I'm honestly just starting to explore those options myself. I have heard good things about the trails at Wilson Creek. I'm not sure if you may be referring to the same place. Here is a link to what I'm talking about. It is a $5 a day access though.

You can find a lot of trails in these mountains. They can be pretty dangerous too. I'm looking forward to finding more.

Hey, BurntBear, what did you do to my Buick?? lol Looks just like the one I had a few years ago before leaving Texas for Idaho. Really liked that car! Umm, mine didn't have the side damage, though. lol But, I've had some vehicles that looked a lot worse!

That would be my girlfriend's doing! That's a '98 LeSabre, a great car by the way. Unfortunately some folks walking down the middle of the road at night caused her to veer off and catch a small tree.

I believe mine was a 1997 model. Great cars! I had been selling stuff since the wife died in May, 2006. Trying to get rid of everything I could before moving to Idaho. I had already sold a couple of old pickups and a 1989 Jeep Cherokee; plus everything in the house. I had bought an old 1983 Pace Arrow and had it ready for the trip from Texas to Idaho. My son and I were planning on leaving on the morning of March 28, 2007. I happened to sell the Buick about 5:30 p.m. on the 27th. And got a decent price for it. I had just about given up on it selling and was going to rent/buy a tow-bar and drag it behind us. I really didn't want to try to pull it behind a 31' motor home that I wasn't used to driving. Worked out great; except I don't got my LeSabre any more!
