Hit up a different section of an old park in urban NJ and scored two keepers. First was a deep and faint 12-46 on the eTrac. 8" or so down.

The front is ok (no date), but the back is the same as the transmitter on the APC...it's wasted.

A few minutes later I got a lousy dime signal, but at 6" i was treated to a nice barber dime

Happy hunting all!

Shame that the LC is toasted, but the Barber Dime sure is pretty.

Great looking Barber, makes me want to visit all the dug over parks in my neighborhood.

Great finds, congrats! :icon_thumleft: Your largies look like mine from the farm fields of South Jersey. All the chemicals make it hard go get one in good shape.

Much appreciated all. Oddly enough I had a similar day today in the same area. 1816 lc, barber dime, Indian, and Buffalo. Will post later after I'm done with daddy stuff.

Well done on the park finds.

I guess I'm unusual, because I'd prefer finding a smooth large cent over a Barber dime any day. Why? Its certainly not because the large cent is worth more to sell--usually its not. Maybe its because of the added age of the large cent or because of the significant weight you feel when you hold it in your hand. Maybe its the character and patina that only comes when a copper coin spends a long long time in the ground. or because they are often not perfectly round..... Whatever the case, congratulations!
