Lead Beach Find

Found this today in the same location I found several musket balls and a cannonball. Heavy and sustained military action in this area. No modern junk found on this particular beach. Probably a little too esoteric but anyone have a clue?

It is lead and is just over an inch and a quarter in length.

Looks like a small valve/spigot handle gas maybe Or a screen window swivel clip.

Lead probably wouldn't be the best choice for this application...too soft.

For some reason my first thought since it was found among civil war bullets was that it was a carved bullet made into a likeness of a jews harp.

I have a carved bullet made into a likeness of a bugle, why not a jews harp?
