First thread so , sorry ! But I live and mostly dig in the piedmont of NC. Today I was digging close to ( within legal limits) a revolutionary war battlefield and found all 4 of these , right up next to a tree, all within 12" of each other. Now don't get me wrong I did find quite a few musket balls and other relics but these I can't figure out . Anyone help ?

Those look like old bullets that hit something after being fired.

I agree with Icewing, they look like fired round balls to me as well. Great find!

This is what a soldier fashioned lead button would look like, dug this in a Union Picket Point. Just about the same size as yours.
