image.webpimage.webppretty sure it's lead.. Heavy no corrosion but who would use it for drinking since its lead? Or what would a lead cap be used for otherwise... Found along river bank with detector..

Looks like aluminum possibly? And perhaps to a flask?

Lead was at one time commonly used to hold many different items so a lead cap is not by any means out of the question. Tooth paste at one time long ago came in lead tubes with a lead cap.
Yum Yum in the tum tum !!!
Lead was in everything !!!
Gasoline, paint, water piping and the list just could go on and on.
I, as a child carried lead fishing sinkers in my mouth and we bit them on our fishing lines using our teeth.
Just like Asbestos was used in many things for many years such as ceiling tiles, floor tiles, insulation, roofing materials and then later became a known health hazard.
I personally am just sick and tired of seeing the State Of Kalifornia Warning Stickers on everything I buy in New York which will soon be another Communistic State if we can't rid ourselves of Governor Cuomo.
Cuomo obviously ate a lot of lead based paint chips as a child. :laughing7:
