Lead/pewter cast button

I dug up this button the other day. It was about 3 feet away from my 5th regiment of foot buttons,mixed in the iron. I don't know if it's my eyes playing tricks on me but it looks like something was on it. I can see 2 lines but not much else.Any ideas are appreciated.Thanks!

Looks like a plain pewter button to me. With the exception of the 71st buttons, most of them that I know of would have had raised markings on the face on military pewters.

Looks like the elements and time have been unkind to it like most that I have dug. I stabilized mine by soaking them in a mix of 70% white Elmer's glue and 30% water and letting them air dry.
