Dug this out of what used to be a Clay Tennis Court which was adjacent to a river. It's lead and has what's left of a safety pin through it. Doubting fishing related. IMAG0185.webp Any clues?
 

Really figured someone would have seen one. It looks manufactured not home made. The properties history dates to 1600's but the fencing of the tennis court looks 1940'/50's. It was below the 4" clay layer by 1".[/SIZE]

Whatever it is ... appears to be cast "pot metal".
Prolly part of netting system on old tennis court.
hard to tell with just one pic of one side.
Try posting a few more pics to check out.
