Lead Seal?

Not much to go on, but I thought I would give it a shot. It's about a half inch square.

Found it in a lake.



I think I can see US on one side.



The other side has some writing too, some on the raised and some on the flattened side.



Any ideas?

Almost looks like an impression from a button.I don't know about lead seals just giving my thoughts hope you get an I.D.
