Well all my fields are out of bounds now till after Harvest

now it will be a case of Lean Times and scratching about for places to go

So this afternoon I decided to return to the Motorway road works on Deere Street, last year I did very well here and got some really nice finds

but I new that the spoil heaps had mostly gone and no new section of road was available. On arriving there was a area that had just been ploughed behind a garage, I new this area well as there were thought to be Saxon graves on the mound
Five guys were detecting it

but I thought I'd give it a go and I already had permission

I walked on detecting and one of the guys approached me and said ow who said you could come on here

after telling him politely to go away

I carried on detecting, apart from a small piece of Bronze a Marble(eyes) button and a few outher bits it was obvious this site was now just about hunted out
After talking to a few of the outher lads detecting, (the ones with a bit more sense) I headed back to the car

I turned around and looked were the contractors had chopped into the mound to make the service road, and wondered if any one had done the sloped edge. Walking on the slope I had 2 signals the first was an electrical crimp joint, the second was a 5th-6th century Anglo Saxon wrist Clasp

my first one ever, I would love to know what's buried deeper in that mound
