started out with compass nugget.1970? have had many over years, current choice is Garrett ACE 350. collection includes: ace 250, AT Pro, ATX, Whites 6000, whites classic, still have my compass too.
Last year using my BH lone star I had a silver hit, in my driveway.. well I never dug it... So now that I got my Tesoro deleon I went back out in the drive, and found the target again, it was showing 95 on my screen,, with solid bars above the silver area,,, and about 7 inches deep. So I got my estwing pick out, and started digging.. I ended up finding a piece of ,, what looks like a screen door aluminium extrude piece about 8 inches long. but it seems kinda heavy for aluminum. My question is , does the deleon see alum and sliver as the same metal???? or do I have a peice of silver (I dont think so) what do you vetereran tesoro users think??

Hello eldorado, the Deleon will see/register larger pieces of metal as "95" just because of the size of the object, what you can do to cut back on those digs is outline the target either by switching to AM to see how long you get a tone in various directions or leave in disc and use kind of the same concept to get a outline.

Aluminum has a knack of registering all over the board on the DeLeon it seems. Canfetti can register way down in the foil range up through pulltab depending on the shred. Larger pieces including tops, bottoms of cans and pieces of alum. door, copper pipe, and even lead can register up in the 95 range. As jharhed said, by working the coil slowly back and forth-you can get an idea about the size and shape of an object. Good luck and HH!

thanks guys,, just learning this machine,,,, so I am digging everything. good suggestions you give, I will try them next time out
