My dad and I were fossil hunting at an old coalmine dumpsite several years ago and we found a really heavy rock with an imprint on the face. We originally thought it was a mark from a machine until we found it in a book...It's heavy-maybe, at least, 10 pounds. It's nine inches or less square, at least the fragment I have (it was dropped by my friend on my toe and broke...ow). I would like an estimate of its value, but am not interested in selling. The imprint is VERY defined and clear, and I may soon post pics. Thanks, pather PS it's much better than most specimens that I've seen, even those in museums. TYP

Re: Lepidodendron

Pic's would be very helpful, I also collect in my area, these are somewhat hard to find here, impressions are rare, actual petrified wood very rare!!!
Value would depend on condition & size.

Fossis.....................

What do you think would be the approximate value? Ballpark?

Maybe $35.00 to $50.00
