I cant find much on this (Button?) other than the fact the he was a vice president and was part of the railroad for a while. It is a rivet style button like you would find on a pair of jeans. not sure if it is a button at all. has anyone ever found one or something similar?

During the later half of the 19th century, including the 1888 and 1892 elections, monetary issues were of great concern. Use of non-gold backed paper money during and after the American Civil War was popular to some, while others favored a gold or gold & silver standard. This button seems to speak to that concern.
