I dug this yesterday & was so shocked to see the plastic was still in fairly good condition considering it's age & the fact it was buried in the dirt. I am however wondering should I take the plastic off or leave it the way it is?

Dang, I hate to be the guy who is on opposite sides......but I would rather be able to look at the plate without the distractive after-market plastic. Kinda the same as dumping out the strange colored liquid that is still in an old dug bottle. I like it though, very cool
