Well...normally I don't mind winter but I'm starting to feel a bit caged. I spent hours upon hours in the treestand during Missouri's archery deer season this past fall/winter and when it ended 2 weeks ago, I started counting down the days until spring. I've got some shed antler hunting to do but I'm really ready to start searching my creeks for artifacts. Problem is, my best creeks are all froze solid...but when they start to thaw, watch out, I'll be ready to pounce like a lion at feeding time!

Sorry for the ramble, but I can't wait to see what turns up in the creeks this spring!

Now that's what I'm talkin about...wouldn't want to be between you and some killer paleo point laying in the creek, lol.

Stuck at work all weekend...really gets me feeling trapped. I made a call last night and got permission to hunt a bigger creek in my area. It is the creek that all the creeks on my family place run into and it is full of big gravel bars, has high mud banks, and I best of all I bet I can spend DAYS searching those. Monday I'm going to get out for a combined antler/arrowhead hunt.

Yea Jan. has been ruff here, gonna be above 32 next week, good luck in them creeks...

Yep, rough winter this year, worst in a decade around here. Just as the last 25 inches finally melted we get blasted with another. We got 8", and possibly another 8 on the way. I just think of all the run off and erosion all this weather is causing and count days until spring headhunting, staying positive over here. Good luck this year guys, HH

Flood snow and ice. I am afraid everything has washed away. Steady Archer you are going thru hunting withdrawls from deer season. I do it every year.
