Like to ID this find!

[How Lucky]

Found this item last weekend and was hoping someone would tell me what it is. Was found at an old train depot. Looks like a nut but has no threads. measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1". Hole measures 1 7/16"D.

Not sure but may be some type of train car linkage spacer. So kinda of a washer. Looks heavy duty.
