I would like to know if anyone has hunted at a "scenic overlook"? I know there are 2 in my area that I have been able to find photo's taken from as far back as the late 1800! Both are bluffs with the base more than 100 ft down and falling away steeply. I'm sure they are both "trashed" up but I believe that many coins over time would have been sailed off them. What you think?

I think you should let us know what you find! :headbang:

Sounds like a good place, check the top and down below

generally any place you find people, or where people have been....I found an old picture of a rail road station once from my town...must have been over 500 people in the picture, it was before cars when horse and buggy was still big...that whole area's been paved over and developed so I checked what I could legally (the rr is active so going on their property is a no no!) and even asked permission of a local church who said go for it...I found clad...lmao! good luck man. :laughing9: bet you find some old pennies at the bottom!

Sounds good but I would double check to make sure it is not in a National Forest or part of some historic area. Let us know what you find out and happy hunting!!

There is a city in SE MN that has a bluff with a viewing machine on top that you must put in a coin to get it to work. The dropped coins could have been lost on top or rolled over the edge? Best wishes, George (MN)

It will probably be late fall before I tackle this place. It is a mile hike up a gulf and then a climb up to the base of the overlook! To many "critters" to contend with now. Waiting on cold weather here in E.Tn.... ;D

i mded an overlook called horse thief springs. back in the 1800 s rustlers would water their stolen horses they took out of texas after they crossed the ok border. im told they spent lots of time olding up to trade or sell the horses. thought maybe they hid a few gold coins there or lost one there as they slept on the ground . got one big hit but it turned out to be a bucket o well i plan on going back as soon as it cools off as i think that it could produce something.
