Went back up to the site I found the seated dime and covered alot of area away from the cellar hole. To my suprise, VERY far off into the woods I dug this 1888 IH. I"m still suprised no Large Cents have came from this site after the many hours I've put into it. I'm confident Coppers will be dug here. Plus I have several more cellar hole sites in the vicinity. The age of the buttons that have been pulled out of this site is a sure sign that the site is old. I've located these holes on a 1854 map. I'll keep goin back and diggin every good signal I find. I'll keep you posted throughout the year with all of my finds. Keep your eyes peeled, there WILL be coppers harvested soon.

Very nice indie. I'm having the same problem at my site. I found and 1888 indie and two early wheaties, but not silver or large cents. I been mostly checking the good signal, tho I do get some that sound good one way and bad on return swing, and can't pinpoint. Right now the field is frozen mostly and muddy from all the rain, but plan as soon as thaw and they plow the field to hunt it as good as I can. Digging all signals.

Do what I do, dig everything that sounds remotely good.

Do not worry. Your Indian is not lonely.

Your Indian has gone to be with the ancestors at the great Casino in the Sky.
I brought wampum and sand dollars to foxwoods. I was kindly escorted to the curb.

Indians are fun to dig too. Good job on the indian!

Congratulations on the IH & good luck getting that LC.

Nice. Your site surely has some goddies waiting. Gonna be a decent weekend with very little frost in the ground. Good luck.

I know, us New Englanders have to take advantage of this January thaw. It's hard to say what kind of forecast is soon to come.
