"Look at all the different colors"
I was about 25 miles from home to visit the doctor at one of his other offices and decided to check with some of the banks in the area. Not much luck as the first 7 banks yielded only about $45 loose and 1 $10 roll. In the loose stuff there was 1-64, 1-67 and 1-68. The roll had 1-67. I decided to head for lunch and take the fiancee out since she works in this area when I spotted a branch of a small regional bank and pulled in. I asked the teller (22-23 years old) if she had any 50 cent pieces. She did not have any but asked the teller next to her and there were $11 loose and that was all that branch had. I said I'll take it all. When she brought them over she was looking at the edges and made the comment about the different colors. I knew right then that this was gonna be good. We exchanged money and I waited til I got in the truck when I realized that $10 out of the $11 was 40% and although the other 2 were clad, 1 of them was an 87s. Sweet! I would post a pic but my camera is still hosed and I may be headed for a new one.
After lunch I went to a few more banks and was able to get $300 in rolls even though "we don't normally do this for non-members". I should have said OK, then keep em, because there wasn't a keeper in the lot. After the morning score though, no complaints! HH all.
