LOOKING FOR A GOOD HUNT

I'm looking for a good, adventurous, and hopefully lucrative hunt in Southern California. I live in Orange County, and have been panning and detecting for a couple of years now. Now I want more. Maybe helping out on a wreck dive (i'm not certified but do have my U.S Merchant Mariner card) or just some nice, local, land hunts. Anybody have a map and need an able-bodied, educated, adventurous, young guy to help find it? I'm game and am one heck of a researcher. Or if anybody just needs a panning buddy or something, let me know.

Yes, I am familiar with Kokoweef but have never hunted out there. I would be very interested in joining you. What did you have in mind and when? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My Partner,
"Doc" & I will be starting our long '08 12+++ months long trip
In a couple of weeks ...
We're starting in NM, The Caballo Mnts, where we have a couple of "Sites" that'll require some serious efforts,
Searching and Time,
From NM, we plan to be heading west....
But!
When we'll arrive in any specific place/state, it would be impossible to estimate
AS!
We just keep moving from one site, & all of them are researched, to another
We normally spend a minimum of two weeks in any one site .....
But!
If the site requires more time, we have NO! Schedule!
and we'll have lots of time to devote to any site(s)

Re metal detecting on blm land

national forest usually looked after by the blm and f&g are off limits to metal dectororist/ except in gold bearing stream beds and high banks, anything else like a cabin site is illegal and you could loose your detector and the truck or car you are using to get there..be very careful where you decide to swing that thing...
