Give a look online for Wilcox tools. They make several heavy stainless diggers for gardeners. They hold up well, and can be found on sale for a lot less than metal detecting specific tools.

I use the longer one of these in sandy soil, and at the beach.

Stainless Steel Utility Trowel 2" Blade 12" Overall

that looks just like my old gator digger just use a band saw and cut teeth into the side. perfect.

Sweet! Nothing beats made in USA quality for twenty bucks! Plus, it's like half the price of other metal detecting diggers.

Step 1. Find gold rings.

Step 2. Sell gold rings.

Step 3. Buy new Stealth scoop.

It's my three step upgrade program- free of charge.

Post a pic of your new scoop when you get it!

There is a guy from Ukraine that sells quality scoops for relatively cheap, he sells on ebay and etsy a few threads here about him if you care to search.

Highly unlikely you will find a quality scoop for under $50 even used.

I think he wanted a beach scoop, i missed that. Did you ever find one? The yellow, or red, or green, plastic ones are under $20 on the big auction site. Find a few pieces of silver with one, and you can upgrade like they said.
