Looking for clues of hot spots in the Sparta/White County area to look

I have 2 questions actually. One is sort of commons, I am from Middle Tennessee White county/Sparta. I am looking for some tips or clues to hot spots, maybe a history legend or just some good battle location, farms we are allowed to search on etc.....The 2nd is sort of an off the wall question. Has anyone ever heard any legends or myths about viking raiders/Saxons here in Tennessee? If so where. I hunted on the Calfkiller River at a community called Yankeetown about 30 years ago. Research Colonel Dibbrell. I would think anywhere over there is a good spot to look.
