Dad & I spent 1 hour searching 2 new fields, but they were total blanks. So we did 2 hours gridding on the edge of the Roman Site we have been doing recently. We got 2 scrappies, a poor hammered, half a Pilgrims Ampulla & not much else, see picture 1.
We then moved to another Roman Site and gridded a very over grown set-a-side area with pretty good results for 2 hours:
(5 hour day)

10 Scrappies - although 1 is a strange because its silver plated bronze of a denomination that was never silver/washed/plated:icon_scratch:

17th C Cufflink
Royal Artillery Button
Tudor Buckle
Bits....

Yeah, I have lots of variants of this type, but I'm not bored of finding them. It's more rewarding than most of the scappies I get.

I like the artillery buttons and the buckle. Also the piece with the stone next to the artillery button is cool

Its one half of a linked button or cufflink from the late 17th C - early 18th C. Although the glass insert is damaged, its a scarce find for me.

Looking for the next spot, been doing that for a while now, most of my fields have just about dried up. That's still a nice haul for 5 hours.
