los banos

Thinking about a trip in april to Los banos to see my sister and would like to work it in with some detecting/panning. Anybody know of a good spot in that area, I'm not familiar with cali much. Looking on the map its not far from mariposa area. Anyone know if there's tailing piles in that area of california? Thanks.
