Still digging at my friends yard , very tiny yard... Ive dug about 75 coins so far from it... yesterday i found a new George Washington gold dollar... and today among the 20 some odd pennies 5 dimes and 6 quarters i find my first silver coin... 1942 silver quarter... i also found this odd Shell's coin game Coin... backside says States of the Union and Massachusetts. Also while i was digging a penny signal hole this half of ring , as best as i can describe came out, no tarnish on it at all. I found the penny in the plug and went on my way.... however My Ace 250 nor my Garrett Pro Pin-pointer picks this up as a metal object ... when u can clearly tell its metal.... what metal wont pick up on a metal detector??

Good finds, would like to see a closer up of the play coin. And as far as a pinpointer or detector not picking up on a piece of metal...anykind... is new to me. I found a play coin once that you would sware was plastic, felt and looked like it , but set my detector off. Keep on swingin in that yard. :headbang:

ask an you shall receive.... now that my camera is working again

edit... the Shell coin is aluminum ,i think,, the picture kinda makes it look like brass/gold.. but it looks and feels like aluminum

The Shell coin was a "collectable" and they had an album, like the 50 (now 56) state quarters. Early 60's maybe? Found a few myself. And then they did presidents, I think. We were too poor to afford Shell gas, then and now.
