The last couple of hunts have been mostly coin shooting. Yesterday I did find an old roundball in the park where I found the 1722 Hibernia half penny.

Today I decided to try a wooded hillside I have had my eye on for a while. It is ajacent to a location where union troops were positioned during the war. I have always thought that the hill would make a goood place for the troops to target practice. It turns out I was right.
I was able to get out for 2 hours today between appointments and managed to find some bullets. They all look like they were fired from close range because they are so badly deformed from the impact.

5 Minnie balls, 5 Williams cleaners, a round ball (badly mashed), an unidentifiable .44 cal, a .44 cal colt pistol round, and a broken hammer form a percussion gun of some sort.

Three possible modern bullets that look a lot like a form of Springfield, a post 1880 bullet with a ribbed groove, a 1943 P silver nickel and two bullets that might be post civil war.
All in all a good day for lead. Thanks for looking.
May your coil find good things.
