On April 30 I finished my 23rd year of detecting (I go from May 1 to April 30). It wasn’t my best year, but it was a long way from my worst which was my first year with $226.07. I have had 9 years when I found more money with my best year being $1447.90. This year I found $750.00 face value. Below I have listed my year totals and included a few pictures of my goodies.

Total coins 10,738
Face value US $750.00 (couldn’t make it come out even like this if I tried)
Detecting hours 829 (726.5 CZ 102.5 ATPro)
Gold items 21
Silver items 107
Rings 118
Earrings 142
Earring backs 59
Diamond jewelry 5 (2 rings and 3 earrings)
Class rings 2 (1 returned and one not returnable)
Military buttons 2
Round balls 11
Flat buttons 6
Sinkers 282
Neckerchief slides 9
Camp tent pegs 1,252 (Returned to camp) total since 2013 21,252 pegs returned
Dollar coins 8
Indian head cents 9
Shield nickels 2
1796 half reale
1829 bust dime
1847 large cent
1934 walking half
W quarter
Mercury dime pendant

Lifetime total coins 194,486 and total face value $14,093.17. (Total does not include value of sold jewelry and relics or rewards for returned items. NOTE all rewards are donated to scouts. I will not keep payment for returning something I feel does not belong to me. If I can identify the owner it is theirs not mine even if I did find it. FINDERS KEEPERS only applies to things that are not returnable. I know some of you may not agree with this, but that is the way I see it and you are free to do what you think is best. No judgment from me.)

The new year has started off with a nice variety of silver including a bucket lister so who knows this might be a great one. I’ll let you know next May. Thanks for looking, stay safe, good luck and may your coil lead you to good things.

A fantastic bunch of finds and a stellar job on the record keeping ! :hello2:

I've also kept detailed records of my finds from day one - for the last (16) years.
It's amazing how these records have helped me to decide if I should go back to a site from years ago or not.
Being able to look up old sites and return with a new detector or coil has resulted in countless good finds.

I've found hundreds of Silver Dimes but I've only ever found one Capped Bust - a 1829 like yours.

Awesomeness!!!! Congrats!!!

Outstanding finds! I used to keep all the jewelry and stuff like that, but figured out one day I ain't gonna live forever so I got in the mode of selling any precious metal finds. As high as gold and silver is right now, you could turn that stuff into fat stacks of cash.

GREAT FINDS !!! GREAT record of what you found . Thanks for sharing with us
