many Confederate Partisians/Guerillas were from this county.....it is common knowledge that they would rob and pilfer under the protection of the Stars and Bars, then return home with their share of the booty until again called for duty.......i know there had to be hundreds or more caches planted by these fellows around their homes............unless i am mistaken two seperate large well known units came from your county , with the good possibility of several others acting on their own as this was overlooked for the most part, as long as you were taking from yankees..................gldhntr
