I found this back a few weeks ago and only today noticed
that it has a wrinkle I haven't seen before.

2016 (389).webp

60's style letters?

2016 (390).webp

At first, I thought I had a watch battery bcause
of the appearance of the back. Cross etched,
looked like it was a battery in a holder of some sort. :dontknow:

Today, I noticed that the top doohickey, was spring
loaded and pulls out!

The marking is "ANSON Pat Pend. "

What I've learned is that this was a Jewelry maker that runs
from around 1932 to 1983. Also, that some of the stuff was sold
at Tiffany's.

I haven't tested for silver. The insert piece is ever so slightly magnetic.
The rest isn't.

What I don't know is why? What purpose/functionality is this supposed to serve?
Anyone familiar with this?
Is it like a locket? Meaning; should it open? I don't see how. :dontknow:

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not to be rude, but does this EVEN look like a top notch piece?

Look at the design. It was probably made in the 70s as a 'hidden' roach clip that was won at a fair or carnival.

The only other thing I can think of, is maybe it came in a set with interchangeable charms that could snap on with that clip.
Roach clip was just the first thought that came to mind, especially with it being hidden.

yes nhbenz got it

though I don't think Watch Fob. It looks like it is for a girl.
No self respecting Man would have that on a Watch Fob.
I'd say
it is a detachable key fob .
so when your key is in the ignition, you can grab your trunk or door key
while the ignition is running.

probably not smart in some neighborhoods these days:laughing7:

looked something like this

and though '67 was the Summer of Love.
the 70's is a good guess.

being Sterling, it was probably a gift.
maybe with the daughters grad-gee-ation car .
(Bugatti ?)

Though it most likely was Worn around the neck as a Key Pendant .

Thanks, everyone, for all the responses. I was pretty certain this was some sort of quick-disconnect. Key, charms, etc. I was a bit surprised to find it after having it for a few days and then, the name on it seemed legit.
The tie to Tiffany's just made it more interesting.

I was just trying to confirm my suspicions.

I figure we are solved.....enough for my purposes anyway. ;)
Thanks!

Pretty neat piece.

Ahhh, the mysteries that keep on giving!
Your once simple little possible pendant is now a famous maker key fob!
....and, is it silver???

I don't see any markings that indicate silver. But, that doesn't matter. I like it.

LOL I saw vhs07 's Post with the Anson Sterling Piece & my mind Interpreted it
to be yours :unhappysmiley: So I guess it wasn't for a set of Bugatti Keys.

Must have Been a V.W.'b

Why not? It fits! LOL
The marking is listed as one of their legitimate marks, just doesn't mention silver. Might still be.
