A friend asked me to cash in her loose change at the casino where I work. Of course I gave it a look-see before doing so. Usually accumulations like this are good for a wheatie or two or at least some Canadians. Found two pre-60 nickels (1949, 1953) and a silver Roosie (1947-S), my first silver dime of the year! Woo hoo! My friend said I could keep it for doing her this favor. I like payment in silver. ;D

Good job. My partner here at work had some change on her desk the other day. Looking at it, I noticed a dime that looked silver. I told her to check the date. She did and it was a 1964. She knows I've been on this silver kick for a while and she tossed it to me and said, "What can it be worth as silver, twelve cents?". I tossed her a quarter for it and said, "Nope, ninety eight cents!". ;D (now it's a buck and the quarter is still worth a quarter)

my friends mom had over $200 worth in change once. we were watching tv and then she dumped the coins into a huge pile in front of us. i got down on my knees and started searching. i found alot of wheaties including a 1919. i also found a bunch of pre 1960 nickels including a 1940! i also found a silver dime. i think i found about 50 cents in old coins! i think i found 10 pre 1960 nickels, 5 wheaties, and a silver dime(1946). this was about a year ago, so i don't really remember what i found. this was of coarse i knew about silver half dollars! i rememer tons of halves in the pile too! after we got done searching, we went to town and then she dumped it in coinstar. it took out about $20! coinstar is a huge rippoff. i also like going through my mom's change can. found a few wheaties doing that!

Coinstar is a huge ripoff. The only time I would use it, is when I accumulated a lot of pennies.

ditto-I unloaded 70 bucks in pennies at coinstar the other day. Filled one machine (and it broke) and then went to another kroger to drop the rest. Granted, it charges like 8%, but when you have that many pennies I will gladly pay it!!!
