Shame it was not a Lucky Lindberch Coin.

In 1927, sausage maker, Elmo Lindberch was
trying for the first non-stop mail flight from
Gary, Indiana into New York City.

Took off in a storm on Nov 7th and landed
2 hours later in Chicago. Needless to say
the mail was late. ;)

Good old Lucky Lindberch.

Later in life he started the Lindberch Sausage
Company, which also failed.

In his final years he designed and marketed a
line of "hot dog" jewelry.

The few examples of his work are today considered
very valuable.

SHERM!

That's one of the funniest I've seen here!

And here I thought Lindberch was a cheese.

To answer your question...the date on the token commemorates the date of the flight and the bulk of these were struck within months of the flight. So the token is likely close to the age of the event date....Nice find....assuming found...Joe

I believe the "hot dog" necklace is actually pieces of red coral.
Very entertaining and amusing.
Who says we MD'ers don't have a sense of humor?
