I met my co-worker friends downtown for lunch today ~ we usually do it on Wednesday, but everyone was too busy yesterday so we went today.
So after eating a huge burrito for lunch I poked around to find a spot to detect. I was getting my detector out of my car and a gray haired guy walked up to me and asked "Is that a White's?" . . . . I replied "Yes, they are my favorite!" . . . . he proceeded to tell me that years ago he lived in Sweet Home Oregon and Mr. Ken Whites gave him a ride somewhere when his car broke down at the side of the road. After a few more minutes of small talk I asked him where he lived now, and he pointed to the house down the street. I asked him how old of a house is it and he said it was built in the teens. So I had to ask if I could detect the lawn! And he said "HAVE AT IT!". I really didn't find a lot ~ the yard is kinda small but I did end up with a 1944 & 1945 wheat cents, a old Chinese ten Cash that was about seven inches deep! And the last target I dug was a 1901 Barber dime! Too bad it's a "P" mint and not an "S" mint. Oh well, still a great treasure!
This makes five weeks in a row that I've dug silver after our weekly burrito lunch!
Thanks for looking!
