I had a meeting with my boss in a small town today. After he left, I stopped by the town's only bank on my way out. They had nearly a full box of halves, so I bought $400 - all I had with me. As they were MWR's, I didn't expect to find anything other than maybe a NIFC or so. Was surprised to find not only a 2004, but a 2000S, a 65 Ken, plus a really ugly Ben. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Ben Franklin was considered wise and charming, but I doubt he was considered pretty. Way to go.

:icon_thumright: Ben just needs a good bath :laughing9: !!!! Love the Bens !!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice finds

I'm newer and have a question about the 2000s.

I only been saving the 1970 and earlier, 2002 and newer, 1987's, and proofs.

Should I be looking for anything else? I think seen a couple 2000's I tossed back. thx for any help. goodluck

Ben was a strange fellow--historically--love to study this man--but, his image on a 50 cent piece is awfully purty in my book.

apush :read2:

2000 dated halves aren't worth saving. But in this case it was a 2000 S and a proof. There are also no "FG" halves which do not have the designer's initials on the reverse of the coin and are worth keeping. There are a few years that have this error. There are also a few doubled die varieties.
