Last August after a storm I found this ring in front of the local TV news crew.. The funny thing was that the TV news crew was doing a story about the boats being washed up on shore during the storm. After they finished, he came up to me and asked what items I find. I explained that this a hobby and some times you get lucky and find a gold ring. Just after I said that, my excal got a good hit. One scoop in the sand and started to shake the scoop. It sounded like a fishing weight. I looked in scoop and could not believe what I saw. I pulled the ring out and just stared at it, in a total brain daze. The TV guy took it from my hand and could not believe what I scooped up was a gold 1943 aviator ring. Just after what I said about being lucky some times. He called the camera man over to get a shoot of the ring and I told him I dont't want to be on TV. So he used his phone for some photos. And they still made a TV news clip out of it. Have not had any luck on locating the owner. Fun afternoon. I posted the news link on my lower post. Thanks Joe
