Main Difference Between the MXT & the MXT Pro.?

Is it just the Multi Tone Feature ? If not what other features are on the Pro?

Besides the tone ID there is also a Back Light and Ground Grab instant Ground Balance feature.

Yep just what Tom said, I'd only be interested in the tone ID myself as if it's dark enough for me to need the backlit display I'm going to using a headlamp to dig anyway and don't want the battery drain. The ground grab wouldn't be a big deal either as with the ground tracking of the MXT I don't lock tracking very often and it's easy to rebalance. HH

There's a lot of very good used Standard MXTs for sale. Because everyone's going to the pro model .

I believe the pro also comes with the D2 coil (whites 10" DD coil ) as well which is a great coil, I use the D2 95% of the time and get dimes at 10"+ with a couple at a full 12" before. You could always get a different coil or a few different ones I also have the Detech ultimate 13" coil which is equal in depth to the D2 coil but seems to hit harder on those 10"+ coins that are on edge. HH

With most features that I don't use on my XLT (Rarely use the Backlight ).
& My money being funny a Reg, MXT sounds good.

Had my xlt out at a club hunt (did not use it cause there were a-lot of MXT, MXT Pro's, XLT's & DFX machines,in close proximity), so I used my Tejon, anyway a guy commented "I'm still usin this Old DFX " then I pulled out my XLT &he said Man that thing still works? It look's it's age but all the Duck Tape is Really just to seal cracks when I use it in light Rain.

It will still hold it's own.

MXT Pro comes with the 12 inch (300) coil and the MXT All Pro comes with the 10 inch DD (D2) coil just the coils are the difference between the two machines

IMHO the standard (original) MXT offers the same performance and I've never felt lacking because I don't have the later couple of bells and whistles.

I HAVE HAD ALL 3 AND THE 300 MXT WAS ONE GROUND DOG AND HAD A DETECH 8X6 AND IT WAS A GREAT DETECTING COMBO. THE ALL PRO HAS JUST THE EXTRA BELLS AND WHISTLES BUT THE TONES ARE HARD TO REMEMBER BUT I ALSO PUT DETECH 8X6 ON IT.
