If you don't mind research, look into Black Bellamy's fort and treasure vault. Bellamy and his partner, Paul Presgraves, were two very successful pirates. Their most famous take was the Wydah (now being salvaged) but they had dozens of smaller takes. They had a fort on the Machias River (location now lost) and a vault either inside the fort or just outside. ( I tend to believe inside, who would hide their money where it could be taken while you are defending the fort.)
Check into old maps and diaries. Possibly newspapers (but I wouldn't count on much there)

sorry about taking so long to get back to you, no excuses, just don't read this forum that often.
The fort was about 50 feet square, with three buildings inside. One was "armory" where spare weapons were kept. One was kitchen, obvious reason. Last was "bunkhouse". Treasure vault could be hidden below any of the buildings. Where? Just about where the highway crosses the Machias River. Nothing left anymore, but a deepseeker should pick up some of those hidden antiques.

Don't have the coordinates, but the fort has been written about in several publications. Check out Henson or do a search in the archives of Lost Treasure Magazine. Do not check jameson, he doesn't even mention it as a legend.
Vague memory of location being on public land at the foot of one of those piers they built to bridge the Machias River.
