Make up Case?

Found years ago and thought it was a make up case? I would like to get some confirmation. Their are no markings, made of Copper with a original glass see through top that I was able to reinstall as it was pushed inside! Never broke!
It was buried in Mud along a river bank.

It looks like a ladies late Victorian compact for loose powder.
