Seems pretty cool.. I think it brings all of the usgs maps together and viewable through this site:

topo.webp

Hope this is of use to someone.

Awesome GB!

I use Sandborn maps occasionally, but this integrates them into it. I also use Historic Aerials too quite often.

i use historic aerials too but the pics aren't that clear

Here's what I'm using to try to find locations which might be prime for metal detecting.
Books from this site: Images of America books https://www.arcadiapublishing.com/series/images-of-america-books
HistoricAerials.com/viewer to find the old homes and see how they may have looked in earlier aerial views.
keep eyes open for old sidewalks.
What I'd really like to find is an accurate way of finding "Old Swimming Holes" in my area or other areas. I can find snippets here and there from stories online and in books but they're hard to come by and really HONE IN ON the actual locations for metal detecting...

How do you guys do it?

I use Topoview as a sort of cross reference for some of my other map resources. But Topoview can be used as a stand alone resource. Good to about 110 years back in my area.

Everyone needs to remember this free source an extraordinary amount of historical information available.
The United States Library of Congress. Amazing historical information, maps, data, etc.......

I GPS enable historic maps using this app;

http://www.maprika.com/

It requires a PC running Microsoft Windows in order to create maps to be uploaded to your phone.
